Our mission

To support national, regional, and continental momentum in Senegal by leveraging the scientific, technological, social, and economic opportunities offered by artificial intelligence (AI), while contributing to the achievement of the SDGs. Its approach is based on a participatory approach, which consists of creating a collaborative space where different stakeholders co-create, test, and experiment with AI-based solutions in real-world contexts.

Our overall goal

Promoting responsible and inclusive use of AI in Africa, in the service of sustainable development.

Our methodology:

ALIVE’s methodology is based on three fundamental principles: participation, interdisciplinarity, and experimentation in real-world contexts.

From the outset, a preparatory phase is conducted on two levels:

  • An in-depth literature review, carried out by project managers and their teams to analyze the state of the art, identify work already carried out, highlight limitations, and better understand the challenges of each project.
  • Internal organization with the ALIVE team to define the governance of each project, establish annual work plans, and develop steering calendars with specific milestones.

We also integrate collaboration with stakeholders into the process: participatory workshops, focus groups, training seminars, and co-creation sessions.
