Axis 1: AI and public policy

Project 1.1 “Developing AI skills in the African context”

Project manager: Mamadou BODIAN

This project aims to establish a clear map of the artificial intelligence skills needed to design and implement relevant and responsible solutions. The goal is to propose effective approaches for transferring these skills to various stakeholders: students, citizens, entrepreneurs, civil society organizations, and public decision-makers. The main objective is to map AI skills at the international level, with a focus on their relevance to the local context, in order to analyze the possibilities for integration into existing curricula in Senegal.

Project 1.2 “Strengthening reproductive health for adolescents and young people through inclusive, co-constructed digital solutions in Senegal”

Project manager: Awa DOUCOURE

The aim of this project is to design and test, using a participatory and collaborative approach, artificial intelligence solutions aimed at making information on reproductive health issues more accessible to adolescents and young people.

Project 1.3 “Governing a national data space for AI using Ostrom's theory of the commons”

Project Manager: Minata SARR

This project, inspired by Elinor Ostrom’s theory of the commons, aims to explore how communities can self-organize to sustainably manage shared resources. In our context, this involves considering the most appropriate mechanisms for ensuring fair and effective governance of the national data space dedicated to AI.
